Applying for a Canadian Visa From Nigeria

You can apply for a Canadian visa in Nigeria in two ways;
Application via the VFS Global situated in Lagos and Abuja, and
Application online via Canada.ca

Types of Canadian Visa

If you intend to stay in Canada for up to six months, then the temporary resident visa and a visitor visa is appropriate visa if you want to explore Canada.

Visiting family and studying in Canada all have different visa programs.

It is important to note that the visitor visa can be issued as multiple or single-entry visas. The single entry allows you to enter Canada once, while you can enter Canada as many times with the multiple entries.

How to Apply for Canada Visa

To apply online visit the official Canadian government website www.canada.ca and click on the menu icon and select Immigration and Citizenship, follow the onscreen instructions, and pay the required fees.

Required Documents for the Visa Application

Regardless if you are submitting your application in person or online, you will be required to submit the following documents.

Completed application form (Temporary Resident Visa-IMM5257)
Family information form
Valid passport and photocopy of previous passports and must include all pages that are not blank and biographic page
2 passport size photographs with your date of birth and name written behind.
Your purpose of traveling to Canada
Visa processing fee proof
Proof that you are legal resident in Nigeria
Letter of travel authorization (if the applicant is a minor), which must include passport
